Education Support staff make up one of the fastest growing sections of the AEU with more than 6000 members. They play a crucial role in our public schools and in the AEU and share many issues and concerns with their teacher colleagues — career development, job security, decent pay and the right to a fair and equitable workplace.
The strength of ES AEU membership and the backing of over 35,000 teacher colleagues were key factors in winning the outcomes of our last ES Agreement. And since then membership has continued to grow.
Our dedicated ES organiser is Kathryn Lewis — herself a former long-serving ES officer. Kathryn can be contacted by email or by phone on (03) 9417 2822. Administrative support is provided by Julie Lynch, who can be contacted on (03) 9418 4861 or by email.
Do you have an ES colleague who's not in the AEU? Hand them this leaflet (PDF 1.4MB) on the benefits of AEU membership for ES staff.
