The Baillieu Government's 2012 state budget has set out cuts of $300 million to TAFE funding — cuts that will lead to course closures, higher fees, thousands of teacher job losses and leave the very survival of the public TAFE system in doubt.
The unprecedented cuts will hit disadvantaged and at-need students hardest, and follow changes that have already ramped up fees, introduced HECS-style loans and opened up the TAFE system to competition, allowing private providers to cherry-pick the cheapest and most profitable courses. We need your help to overturn these changes. Join the TAFE4All campaign here.
