Disability services

Elaine Gillespie [elaine gillespie 2.png]The AEU represents instructors in day services, program managers, business services officers and employment officers in Victoria.

Our priorities are your priorities: higher salaries, better career opportunities, reduced workload and a significant reduction in the level of contract and casual employment.

The skills, experience and qualifications of this largely female profession have long been undervalued. But the successful equal pay case conducted by unions including the AEU should now see improved pay in social, community and disability services.

Disability services are part of the AEU's TAFE and Adult Provision sector. Greg Barclay is AEU vice president (TAP). Elaine Gillespie in AEU deputy vice president (TAP). Administrative support is provided by Ann Dettenberg. You can contact them on (03) 9417 2822.

Members are also supported by our metro and country AEU organisers who can visit to your sub-branch to discuss local issues and update members on campaigns and other developments, and by the AEU Member Support Centre. All of them can be contacted on (03) 9417 2822 or by email to melbourne@aeuvic.asn.au.
